HELP Foundation in collaboration with MUKUL MADAV FOUNDATION / FINOLEX PIPES implemented Livelihood Support to Vulnerable Families through Agro-based Small Scale Projects in Pulwama & Budgam Districts of J& k

The Main Objective is to economically empower the most vulnerable women headed
households and other categories in the identified villages by farm activity, so that they get
additional income to meet their basic needs. (Food, clothing, medicines and education for
children. The Village level workers and District coordinators in Pulwama and Budgam held a focused group discussions with Village-heads (sarpanch) and village committees in the respective districts and villages. During the FGDs the teams apprised the village committees about the program objectives and the criteria for selection of the beneficiaries’ like poor, widows and orphans who have small landholdings and have the experience and motivation to work in the fields. During the implementation of the program,the selected 42 beneficiaries(21 Families from each district Budgam and Pulwama) would be provided “garlic” seed for cultivation. The aim of the project is to grow a cash crop, that would give them good income in short period of time.The garlic has good demand and available market and can give very good income to the beneficiaries.
