Health Care

The WHO states "there is no health without mental health".Physical and Mental Health are the two components of overall Health and are closely connected.Being in a good mental state can keep you healthy and help prevent serious health conditions. Similarly, poor mental health can lead to poor physical health or harmful behaviors.

HELP Foundation has worked in overall Health Care since inception.

1. MENTAL HEALTH

Child Guidance and Counselling Centre (CGCC)
A psychiatric health care centre in the trouble torn valley of Kashmir was set up in November 2003 in response to the social need and to overcome the social stigma attached to visits by such patients to Govt. Psychiatric Diseases Hospital, Srinagar. The centre (A Mental Health Care Project) was established in collaboration with AMAN Trust funded by ECHO (European Commission for Humanitarian Offices) to serve the affected people particularly children.


Mariam Wellness Centre

In 2007, the clinic was shifted to Hyderpora & was renamed as Mariam Wellness Centre. Various services was available for free of cost for public which included Mental Health OPD, Step by Step Learning School for special children & Suicide Prevention Cell.By 2012, the clinic added facilities of Mental Health Review, De addiction of Drugs, Psychosocial Rehabilitation, Family Peace & Development, Childline Facility (1098), Community Outreach Programs & Manpower Training. Later, the center was shifted to Jawahar Nagar in 2016.


Organizing Medical Camps
Medical Camps are being organized by the Foundation once or twice a month depending upon the need of the hour. The aim of these camps is to render medical assistance to poor and needy people who could not have access to quality medical care because of economical constraints.About 7000 people have been so far benefitted by these camps in terms of free consultation, medicines, USG, ECG and other blood tests. Follow up camps are also held after every 2 months to monitor the improvement in the patients. The Foundation also held screening medical camps like diabetic, anemic, psychological assessment, malnutrition, etc.

 

Healthy Minds

In 2019, Help Foundation began its project “ Healthy Minds ” in Rambagh & Rainawari (psychiatry hospital) with Consultant Clinical Psychologist Dr Muzafer Khan, Child Psychologist, Clinical Psychologist & Mental Health Counsellors. The team organizes awareness programs, advocacy programs, group discussion on drugs in their premises as well as in public places to reach maximum people in need of mental help. They provide counseling to patients on phones as well as in person.

 

PHYSICAL HEALTH

1. EMS

Emergency medical response services is an acute care ambulance service by medical professionals. It involves pre hospitalisation care of a patient along with transportation of the patient from home to hospital hence reduce the rate of mortality and morbidity.

2. Shehjar Clinical Laboratory

Aim is to make quality and timely diagnostic services accessible and affordableto the economially disadvantaged population of Kashmir valley.

The laboratory is well equipped with state of the art machinery. Different health check ups are performed here. Home collection is also offered with no husstle to gather the reports as it is directly sent to the patient through SMS/ WhatsApp.

3. Jan Aushadhi Store

HELP Foundation launched a campaign to provide quality medicines at affordable prices to the masses.The stores have been set at Rajbagh, Pampore, Inderhama and Kupwara to provide generic drugs which are available at lesser prices but are equivalent in quality and efficacy as expensive branded drugs.

The purpose is to bring down the healthcare budget of every citizen through providing quality generic medicines at affordable prices.
