HomeNet South Asia is a regional network of home-based worker organisations spread across eight countries. These include Afghanistan, Bangladesh, Bhutan, India, Maldives, Nepal, Pakistan and Sri Lanka. Founded in 2000, they are South Asia’s first and only network for home-based workers. Currently, they have 62 members across South Asia. Their motto is WE ARE A MOVEMENT, WE ARE A SISTERHOOD, WE ARE THE FUTURE!
HomeNet South Asia organised their first ever Congress between 18th to 20th October, 2022 at Nepal. A home based worker along with one representative of the organisation was asked to attend this Congress. This was an invite for the existing as well as new interested members to attend the Congress. HELP Foundation also applied and got selected as a new member after clearing due diligence process. Farhana Fayaz (home based worker) and Arfa Kamal (HELP’s representative) attended the Congress.
