HELP Foundation in collaboration with Maharaja Hari Singh Foundation conducted one day legal awareness camp for women artisans at Bait-ul-meeras Aali kadal, Srinagar. The session was held by Ms Priya Hingorani, the Senior Advocate of Supreme Court and in the session there were around 200 women artisans. Awareness was provided to the women artisans about their rights. Ms. Priya enlightened the artisans present there about their rights. She talked about the issues like domestic violence and how a woman can seek help in that regard. She also spoke about property rights of women and other issues like eve teasing, abuse etc. that every woman confronts in her day to day life. A proper guidance was given to women about divorce issues, wages equality, maternity leave, etc. She also informed about the district legal cell which is present in every District Court and how to seek free legal assistance from there.
